About Cape ReingaThis is the northern most accessible part of the North Island, and from here you can see the meeting of the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea which forms a white line of water, stretching into the horizon. The two seas are different colours, with different moods and tides. The Tasman Sea is on the west coast, and in New Zealand, the west coast is known as being the more wild side. Standing looking back to the west coast you will be able to see Te Werahi, with the surf waves clearly noticeable. Looking to the Pacific side, you will notice that the waves do not have too much surf.
